FYI: Compression errors when loading saved games

I started getting compression errors when attempting to load a saved game. HOI3 also took a lot longer to start than usual.

The fix was to re-run vcredist_x64.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hearts of Iron 3\install.

(Here I am responding to something from 2012, lol!) I love you man! This happens to me far too often, and I keep having to run it whenever it happens. Gets annoying, but I love this game too much to leave it because of it. Very buggy though, crashes constantly. Oh well, at least I get to play this beautiful game

Well... intalling vcredist_x64.exe did not fix this problem for me.
Instead: Dont alt-tab while the main menu is loading. Doing this breaks the savegame loading.

In general this game does not like tabbing out of it. At least for me its a frequent reason bugs and crashes do happen.
