HoI3 cannot load Saved Games

There is no Load Saved Game Tab - I can Save games but cannot reload them. There is a Save Game Tab but NO Reload Game Tab!!!!! Any help please.

Sorry I might have got the wrong end of the stick, but what are you trying to do?

Load a save game?

If so, when you start the game, and you choose single player and you have the map, on thr top left there are the options to start on a certain date and 'Gotterdamrung' etc, well in that box, on the left, is a tab (with a folder icon I think) click that and you will see all your saved games, pick the one you want, then press 'Play' bottom right of screen.

You have it correct. I can Save games but nowhere am I presented an option to load a saved game. In fact after your reply I checked and I am never given an option for single or multiplayer option. When i satrt the game I get a screen with 4 Nations (Germany, USA, Japan and Russia and a tab for Tutorial - that is all!!!

What version of the game do you have? I have it up to the 'For the Motherland' expansion.

I dotn think (im starting a game in a minute, and Ill check) that there IS an option to load a Savegame from inside a game (in the pause menu) I think you can only save there.

So I take it you cant start a game as any country you like at the moment either? Only those 4?

Sounds strange, I thought even in the original version of the game you could start as virtually anyone.

In the screen with the 4 nations options start there is a custom start button or something similar in the right and down corner, if u pick there there is another screen with more options, the autosave one is there. Maybe u cant see it because u have to shift tab to get out the steam shift tab message.

Got it figured - If I play ' Semper Fi Expansion ' I get all the options that you mentioned.

That does not mean I know how to play it correctly of course.

Used to play the Avalon Hill version of the Board Game - Battle of the Bulge' yearssssssss ago but the the battle here is incomprehensible :)

You will get the hang of it soon. Best thing to do is just play it, give yourself a simple set of goals to achieve, like 'Stable economy' and try and keep all your economic figures in the green, then things will happen and you will gradually learn the gameplay. Wont take long, but will take longer than usual and will requitre a little bit of study, youtube videos or manual etc..


Its well worth sticking with, Ive only been playing a couple of months myself. I havent played anything really except Paradox games since Crusader Kings 2 came out!

The videos by this guy on youtube helped me greatly at the beginning. Also dont be shy on the Paradsox forums, they are friendly over there, noone will call you noob or anything.
