File Exception Problem
When I load HoI3, I get "File Exception: Exception in: virtualfilesystem.cpp, line: 624. The system cannot find the file specified". I don't know what this means but I can't play the game at all since it closes the game out. Any answers?

Well the first time I installed the game it acted up and kicked me out when I was playing. I reinstalled it and now I get this message. I dont know where to find the error but I think with all these problems, the makers of the games will have to fix it. For now, there is no answer.

However I know how to get the game working without any of the dlc's but you have to go into HoI3 file and find the original HoI3 launcher to get it. You need to know what ur doing if you want to do this.

tell me more please,its a good game played it for weeks, maybe i deleted something in error when i deleted some saved games? driving me crazy!

No. your saved games have nothing to do with it. Although I have heard that there are such things as ghost files which could prevent a program from loading. Alot of people have found and deleted ghost files in HoI3. But for me, I dont have any, so i'm out of luck.

and whatever you do, don't delete the "tfh" file or the game will not work at all.

but this error file exception......line 624 etc. what does it mean? any clues how to get it working again or where to look. i have redownloaded from steam many times

I think it has something to do with the main map and where it is is out of our reach. Probably in one of those special map folders that you can't open bc you dont have the program to open and fix it.

Cracked it!
borrowed this advice from the forums and it worked= go to your paradox folder and

Navigate to your hoi3 installation in the steamapps folder.
Open file "map".
Within that file is another file labelled "cache".
Delete everything within that folder.
Restart your copy of hoi3. The cache will be reconstructed. This may
take a few minutes.
After that exit and restart the game. It should be working normally :)

did that and still gives me the same message. I did verify the cache files and now it is redownloading all the files and other things within that cache file. lets hope it works.
