Its really hard and you can't purposly do it unless you cheat.

Best thing I can tell you to do is make alot of bad choices and laws.

Neglect the politics tab completely and tweak intelligence and by the next election you will probably change the party but it takes alot of work.

I can't understand why paradox hasn't done anything about this. I don't want to cheat but as i can see the party i want to get into power (National socialist party of greece) gets 18% on the votes but days after the numbers of voters got reduced to 13%.

If you have "Support ruling party" prioritized then it will lower the votes of any other parties.

But seriously, It wouldn't make sense for the head of state to want the other political party to take over. Thats why you can't purposly do it.

I recommend learning to mod paradox games to suit your interests.
You can easily change advisors, rulers, governments in the text files.
Even party popularity

You can cheat, or launch coups, or win elections (in a democracy).

To launch a coup or win elections you need to determine what party you want to put in power, then play as a country with that same ideology (the party name would be different, obviously). So if you wanted to put the national socialist faction in power in Greece you could start as Germany, put 10 spies in Greece, and use those spies to either "Support our party" or "Covert Ops."

Covert Ops will let you launch coups (with a very low chance of success).

Support our party will help your party win elections (to some extent this is random).

Once your party is in charge, save the game, and reload your save as the nation of your choice.

For example, in this way I was able to start a game as Germany in 1936. By June 1936 I'd pulled off a coup in Greece, putting the EEK(?) in power. Note that coups will significantly reduce a country's national unity, which is bad.

No you can't. In order to change party you need to go to the game files of HoI3.

I don't mean to revive an old topic and I'm sure the original poster is no longer watching this but for anyone else who may be looking into this issue:

Using the above tips you can increase a certain party's popularity. In a democratic country you can then use the cheat 'election' (remove the 's) to launch an election then and there while the party you wish to win is popular.

Yeah, but the problem is there is no fast way to make the party you wish to win popular

You're right, but using the cheat can still be useful and it's a real timesaver. If you /do/ manage to popularize your desired party, you don't have to wait until the next election.

This is one factor I really liked better in HOI2. By changing your sliders, you could effectively change your government into one that suited your style of play better. It took awhile, but that's realistic.

The focus of the game in HOI3 seems much different. In the new one, you play as the current head of state, in the older one you play as a "collection of social elites" as LeFort mentioned above.
