HOI 3 Black ICE Mod battle/division structure problems.
Back in vanilla HOI 3 I knew pretty well how things worked, knew how to make best divisions, what are good tactics etc etc. Now when I downloaded the latest version of Black ICE and the Podcat's LAA .exe I didnt exsept this kind of change to battle.
Now when I am playing as the USA (Germany has conquered europe, pearl harbor etc etc etc) and I am invading Japan , I am running into very wierd ♥♥♥♥. When I outnumber the enemy 4 to1, battle is on plains (no fortification, river), I have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tanks, planes, artillery and all that ♥♥♥♥, some how the Japanese garrison troops inflict 7 to 1 casualties. Also the battle rages on for like 8 months for no reason (how the hell they destroy my armour whit BB guns >:( ).
Ok so here are my questions.
1. What is a good division structure for real? I doubt that the composition that the mods offical page suggest ( having highest CA bonus and using all kinda stuff in 1 division) works. So ok the AI uses it and it works. But when I build it they dont do ♥♥♥♥. Blitzkrieg turns into 100 years war because batle just stays in +99 for me. Also why is the organisation dropping so F-ing low. In vanilla HOI 3 when you got superior units, you would decimate the enemies in few days?
2. (Partially for question 1). What is the best way to attack enemy. As I already explained that normal battling wont do ♥♥♥♥ to me so whats the winnable way. If I do invasions, that battle will be over soon because of the supporting fleet. Also how the hell does ♥♥♥♥ transfer supplies whithout any plains, ships or road connections, when they are encircled?
THANK YOU FOR ANY ANWSERS!

Well now the division structure is different.

Its, IIRC, 2 mainline brigades, 3-4 support brigades and then 1 HQ brigade.

Ok wow. I Tought that it was 1 mainline, 4-5 supprt and HQ (as the mods offical page says). That might explain a lot.
Would you recomende using 3 or even 4 mainline units ever in same division?

Hm ... 1 mainline brigade still is O.K. .... I (as germany) most of gthe time have only one of them in my divisions.
my normal 1936s Infantry divisions for exaple have:
Inf-Regiment / Light Arm Attachment / Artillery / Recon Cav / Engineer / Div HQ

Even my Assault Divisions only have a single Regiment:
Mot Inf / Armor Attachment / Mot Support /Armored Car / Tank Destroyer / Engineer

As for the reason why your armies fail ... maybe the river, which, after all is an obstacle (do you have enginneers with river crossing capability? ) aside from this weather plays a really really big role ...
if the region is in deep snow, each level of deep snow gives a 10% defense bonus for the defender ... if the region is in mud, it even is 20% per level.

So, if you attacked the enemy in a region full of mud (I guess a probable occurrence in the climate zone of Japan and the outlying islands) their divisions count as 3 times as strong as they normally would be ;)
Also there may be other boni that Japan gets, as member of the Axis, Japan for example gets a "Territorial Pride"-Bonus, if you attack japanese units in their core regions.
And there may be other boni due to certain events

Also, don´t underestimate the tech level of your enemy ... perhaps you should just load your savegame and just choose japan in order to check its units and its tech levels

Already checked and its nothing too special. The mud can be a huge factor, but still I have no clue how militia men whit inferior equiments can destroy pattons 15 tank division ( in their equiment it says 0 penentration, but in battle it says 40....how????).
Started a new game in wich I will specialice in heavy air force. Good luck fighting tanks when its raining bombs ;).
