Playing HOI3 on Win11?

I've been reading on the forum and seeing people manage to play the game on win10 by disabling fullscreen optimatization and using compatibility mode. I tried that and managed to get on main manu and select a country, then it would crash. I just want to know if anyone here know how to run the game on win 11, before I try turning off cores of the processor or using the large address aware app. Thanks.

Well, I tried the podcast launcher. Didn't even make it to the main menu before it crashed.

I have all the dlc's. I am gonna try putting the original launcher back on and install the large address aware app.

Huge apologies in advance if I'm teaching you to suck eggs. Podcat's (LAA) .exe was written to allow the HOI executable to access up to 4GB of memory. It certainly works for me on Windows 10 although I haven't tried it on W11. You need to overwrite the existing hoi3_tfh.exe with Podcat's file and then run the game from launcher.exe which allows you to selected any third-party mods you have installed. Hope you get it sorted, IMHO HOI3 with some good mods is still one of the largest and most immersive wargames out there.

Unfortunately the Podcat LAA didn't work for me. I couldn't even get on the main menu with it, versus the original launcher exe could at least let me get to the point where I can select a country to play...

for me turning off all dlc a part of three main one helped

I finally managed to get it run, by using Podcat's LAA and taking out all the DLCs except for the Semper-fi, For the Motherland. TFH, and Star & Stripes. And I run it without full screen optimization.

However, my game isn't saving properly. When I load a saved game, all ministers disappeared and my techs were all reset....
