Report a translation problem
It runs as it should for me on Win10 but I had to use a bit of voodoo to get it to launch but I don't really remember what I did now.
The game started, but then crashed as soon as the main menu would pop up?
Compatibility mode and turning off fullscreen optimization did nothing for me too.
The fix for me was: Large address awareness!

Just download the laa_2_0_4.zip here, unzip it and patch the hoi_tfh.exe with it.
(You can find it in your Hoi3 directory: SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hearts of Iron 3)
After that (at least for me) Hoi3 works absolutely fine in fullscreen 1920x1080, also via the launcher.
Even without compatibility mode and with fullscreen optimization, no more problems.
BUT you need more than 2GB RAM for that!

That being said, think HOI3 is a much more realistic and difficult game then hoi4. Also more punishing for germany in terms of having enough resources to feed its factories LOL
