Compression error when loading savegames

Hi, I cannot load any of my saves. Gives every time and on every save the message "Compression error".
I have checked I have latest game update, cleared both map caches, uninstalled and reinstalled the game and updated my vcredist to latest (and tried the one in \SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Hearts of Iron 3\install) to no avail.

I can start a new game no problem and it seems to work as usual, but I'd really like to access my savegames... Please help?

I read a post years ago about having issues if you have too many save games? Do you have many saves?

Tried deleting all but 5, did not work. :(

SOLVED!

Apparently the issue is that the old games executable file doesnt handle large amounts of RAM or advanced processors well. This leads to multiple crash/performance issues in various forms. In paradox forums there is a replacement file that can handle modern hardware. Its also called the podcat's file.

Thanks, this worked. I was about to throw my pc out of the window...

I hoped this download would also get rid of the game crashing everytime I alt-tab, but sadly it didn't.

unfortunately the links aren't valid anymore.
Connected my steam acount to paradox account
tried a sync. Not sure if there was a sync at all. So I couldn't gain hold of that file, hence I deinstalled the game. It's unplayable if you can't load even one saved game. I would very much appreciate if somebody can provide a download for that file.
