Podcats.exe?
I've seen around that HOI3 needs this exe to work, even without the DLC, yet it exists nowhere. I cannt found any trace of it.

Here's an equivalent of the LAA patch: http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php

It is on the Paradox forums, HOI III tech support section. You need to be a registered user on the Paradox forums or you cannot even see that section.

I needed to link my Steam account with the Paradox one to see the forums, and yet it still says I don't have permission to view the HOI3 forums.

I did. The forum says that I'm not allowed to access or view the HOI3 tech support section.

Here is one link for a podcat

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/blackice-9-released.1042017/

another
*Clicks on link for Podcat's exe'

"Paradox Interactive Forums - Error
You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action."

The second one is the same, but I saw the exe being a LAA thing? Is that really all the exe is? A patch for the LAA problem? If that's the case I know of another that does the same thing.

It allows the game to run better on a 64bit systems, use more memory I believe. And you cannot see those links because... you are not logged into the forums.

If you are having issues with linking your Steam account to Paradox forums, you may need to submit a ticket there.

Did you try logging out of steam, then back in. Then try PDX forums? *shrugs* worth a shot, if you believe you have already linked them.

Download NTCore's Explorer Suite. Install and open CFF explorer and right click tfh.exe, open with CFF explorer, file header, blue box on the right that says "click here" and check box that says " app can use over 2g of ram" That will let the game use the ram it needs which will stop the crashes.

Also right click on tfh.exe and set to run as administrator. For whatever reason steam version wont run unless run as administrator is checked.

I am logged in. I did link it.

Oooooooh. So it's just a LAA patch. Okay. I know what I need to do. Thanks a lot for clearing that up.

Yup. Using an LAA patch and nothing seems to be broken.

Great.

I'm going to link it here for those that don't want to go on the forums or can't even access them regardless of being logged in.

Sigh, I've done all this, and I still can't get HOI3 to run on my fresh win7 64 install. :( this is really frustrating. I just want the vanilla game to run, I don't even care about blackice at this point.

Help? anyone get this nonsense?

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
