Better than Euro truck simulator 2 ?
Is this better in any way ? Better driving mechanics ? Bigger maps maybe? Graphics ? Anything ?

It's older game than ETS2. It is just game with series of unusal mission with Scania, like transporting supplies during the flodd or riding in the mountains, there is also a lot o trailer parking mission and manouvering on the small space. There is also virtual version of "European Truck Driver" where you must prove your skills behind the wheels. There is also freeride where you have truck and you transport goods for points at the city and rural areas (the map is not as big as in previous SCS games but its full of details, in my opinion it's fun something a bit different than ETS 2 but only trucks are Scanias. This games is great when you have sterring whell it worth trying. :):honkhonk:
The graphics are the same as in ETS 2.

Does it support steering by mouse like ETS2?

I'd have a wheel for ETS2, but my crummy desk wouldn't hold one :D

It's the samething as ETS2 just with more difficulty. It's support steering wheel too.

ETS2 = Driving long distance from A to B
STDS = Honing your driving skills around lots of objects and obsticals and trying to get into impossible(almost) parking spots.

Simple as that.

Does it support xbox controller for windows?
DJ Dostoevsky Feb 27, 2014 @ 6:02pm
Yup.

Full 360 pad support.

We are using DirectInput instead of XInput API so there are some limitations for the X360 controller. The vibration is not supported and the triggers are combined into one axis instead of two separate ones.

Strange, I never noticed a problem with the 360 triggers on STDS or ETS2. I have gas & break on RT/LT as well as gear up and down on the R/L Shoulder buttons. Works pretty flawlessly for me.

You would only notice that if you wanted to simulatenously press both brake and throttle.

Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

I got this game on gamersgate, without steam, but it is on sale on steam, AND IF YOU HAVE A NON-STEAM KEY, you can use your regular key and it will activate on steam, just add game, input key.

Thanks for getting this on Steam for people to enjoy who didn't know about it.

Question though, would you guys be patching in a better Controller support system at a later stage when ever some free time permits?

Thanks.

How do you look left and right if you're using the mouse to steer?
