Paul: You can let go.
Ethan: What happens then?
Paul: Another story, kid. What else?
... as previous comments suggest, another story, setting and characters
Great game!
I am curious tho, on what future "The Astronauts" might bring us in terms of games...
SPOILER ALERT!!! Don't read unless you've played through it!
Fanaprimo:
"First the letter from Ethan to Paul Prospero.
You cannot read the ink on the stamp, but the stamp itself is a 18c stamp with the Hubble Space Telescope on it.
First day of the stamp May 31 1981. 18c stamps could be used between january 1981 and november 1 1981.
Ethan wrote stories about everyone, and gave them to the person who inspired him. Every family member had his/hers own place for himself. If you read a story and put it back you hear a conversation between Ethan and the person involved. (Grandpa + "Sap" story) - (Travis + "Fangs") - (Missy + "Witch") - (Chad + "Magician") - (Dale + "Sea Thing") and (Ethan + "Paul Prospero")
Now the good news: Ethan is still alive !!!
Ethan disappeared, lost his memory, and lived a few years under the name of Paul Prospero.
By returning to Red Creek Valley, his memory returns. Visiting the old house, the favorite places of family members, seeing in his imagination the stories he wrote about them , remembering the conversations he had with them (after reading those stories)"

There are A LOT of loose ends in the story of which we don't know anything, so the Astronauts have some leeway in creating a sequal. They would have to get very creative not to ruin the first story with a second though, but I'd like to see them try to add some more twists and turns in a sequal.
It's funny because I didn't enjoy playing the game as much while I was in it, but I'm really liking it now I finished it.
