Combat is similar in that you can dodge, parry, etc. As far as I've seen there aren't any magic spells. There are various classes you have to find to unlock and they have their own set of abilities.

Way less weapons than Elden Ring

Don't know how big the map is yet since most of it is covered in fog and you have to find maps to reveal it. But the world design kind of feels like a more open Dark Souls 2 but with a bunch of small dungeons you can find like in Elden Ring.
combat isn't ground breaking it's a bit more like sekiro combat with guardbreaking/counters. map is big just can't fast travel unless your at a beacon which they seem scarce and slows exploration. the art design is far better than elden ring and enjoyable to look at. Plenty of different enemies there's a good amount of weapons and different shells to play as.

lol don't try to compare the two since one is big open world vs a smaller "open world", this game looks better then elden ring and its going to be smaller then elden ring so you really need to look at new vs old and game length....
Play the free Demo and do a 5 minute Google search and you'll have all the answers.

Also a bit harsh to compare the industry's juggernaut (depending on who you ask, best to ever do it) vs a team that is indie or just past indie status.

I'll take Mortal Shell 2 over Elden Ring any day. Elden Ring was cool, but at least for me, definitely not the end all, be all, souls-like many make it out to be.
has more shells then elden ring :steamthis:
Way better than Elden Slop
I haven't played long enough yet, but compared to Elden Ring this one feels like an Indie game. The only thing that stands out so far compared to Elden Ring are the graphics, they look nicer due to the UE5 engine but does not match the details of ER.

Because it literally is an indie title, even if the price tag isn't <$30 or wherever your bar is for indie pricing. Maybe there is an argument for AA, but this still is indie honestly.
