PLEASE How to Update to 1.05 ?!?!?!?!?

I just bought the game and discovered it's not updated. (WTF?!?!?)
So I had to get patch 1.05 from a site gamershell or something like this change the regedit file as it was stated (and I have the right lines in regedit now) but still the exe patch updater doesn't find the game installed and stops.

There is a way to solve this ???

Instructions to Intall Patch 1.05:

1. Download update patch 1.05
(mirror1; http://www.gamershell.com/download_17452.shtml

Note: If you try to install the patch it will not detect the game. You'll have to add a registry key to enable the detection.

2. Open a text editor and paste the following text:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Black Sea Studios\Knights of Honor]
"InstallDir"="d:\\games\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\knights of honor"

Note: You have to customize the "InstallDir" according to your own install path.

Save it has a .reg file and double click the resulting file to import the key to the registry.

3. Install the update patch.

Hello thanks for your reply. Yes as I wrote I did that. But I was able to solve : seems everything worked after I launched the game (no updated). After I quit I launched the patch exe and it worked.

I have a problem. The programme says me that the patch was already installed. what should I do?

Does anyone know why this game isn't fully patched on Steam? The 1.05 patch was released in 2007, you'd think Paradox could have bothered to update the game at some point given they're still selling it here.

Different distribution rights i think. That's what read some times a long time a go.
So legal issues.

Paradox did distribute it. I think only in north america.
In europe it was first distributed by Sunflowers.

The forum on paradoxplaza got closed, as they said the have no rights in it anymore at all.

Black Sea Studios did develop it. The studio was sold to Crytek and they are as far as it seems not interested in PC gaming anymore. More money elsewhere.

Could of course be that Paradox was/is just lazy as so often, but who knows...

BUT

While I haven't bought the game on Steam, i'm confident that most can fairly ignore that Guide and only have to run the patch.

Put the patch inside the game folder before running it though. That's important !
