In my experience, multiplying your unit count in a group (the "X army size" mod in the Ultimate Mod) ruins a lot of balance in the game. Peasants become significantly stronger and cavalry suddenly turn rather.. useless.
I've also noticed that you tend to get rebels MUCH quicker, which is a huge nuisance. Not sure if it's because of the 1.05 patch included, but you end up with -50 war exhaustion and no bonuses from won battles in region. More rebels = more rebels, even if you destroy them.
And yeah there's a few bugs. The UI is.. off, the tutorial no longer works and they replaced a bunch of default sound tracks in the game. With the UI being off I mean that if you, for example, select marshall skills, the menu for it is all the way to the left of the screen.
They did add a deeper economy. Afaik in the installer you got several options (including for army) for mods. DoG (Dusk of Glory) is the one I picked, and that one is good even on its own. I do like the new buildings they added, just not really the rest.
Thank you Waspu for sharing.
About the "X army size" I think it would be nice X2, not more.
The deeper economy and added buildings are what interest me the most.
Also, I'm happy you didn't find any major bug.
Really? I thought it was the exact opposite.
Man, dunno what to do. I don't want to download stuff that I will not use.
Maybe you could try to change your screen's resolution from desktop.
I hope for a big online PvP gaming .
I think the biggest problem of AI in original KOH was that they burned bridges too fast. You can simply grow yourself slowly and eliminate kingdom after kingdom, as soon as they ruin their relationships with other kingdoms and become hated. Not only do you conquer them without facing any more enemies, but your kingdom also gains respect among others and improves relationships as a result. You could follow this chain of low resistance till the very end.
However, lets be honest. That was like what, 2005 or so, game was still amazing to have such system. How many games have we seen on the market with such diplomatic system in place?
I am also excited to see what will the sequel bring to the plate in regards to the diplomacy, relationships and the way AI handles them.
So you think I should just play vanilla?
Absolutely.
The only mods I actually could recommend are the one that just affects the resolution (and NOTHING else!) and the world map mod, only because of the size.Keep in mind that mod also has same issues like any other, but my only satisfaction in it was the size of the map.
Play first the original Knights of Honor with or without HD Mod only. Later you can try out the other mods.
All my mods have the same difficulty level.
Here you see one of my mods in action.

Currently I play the Kingdom of Scotland with the SteamVersion Knights of Honor and with the Mod OrientandOccident180919 in game speed 4 and the difficulty Hard.
As I said I don't have problems with resolution. The game seems to work just fine for me.
Thank you for the playlist, so I can give a look.
