i turned DEP on and added the game to exceptions, restarted upon request, still the same:

out of my 250+ steam games that's the second one like this (after "Robin Hood").
Same behavior before and after the "fix" described above. On Windows XPsp3 with nVidia GTX 6500Ti.
UPDATE: Well the old standby of "reboot your system" actually did the trick.... It's running now!
In DEP I have inactive all options and I can't change anything.
