Problems with pointers not appearing in the configuration
My PS VR2 arrived on Wednesday and I've been trying to configure it ever since.

The head is recognized and the controls connect normally, even vibrating when I activate them.

However, in the final part of the configuration, the pointer does not appear and I cannot select to continue,

I'm using a recommended TPLink, I've already tried extenders, port 2.0...everything.

Anyone else like this?

I have the exact same issue. Getting Asus dongle tomorrow, but already tried two different (other dongles) and no luck.

I've tried several different adaptations and nothing. A friend is trying now with a pci.

On Reddit it's full of other people with the same problem l. We've already tried everything

These days have been very frustrating, I've tried everything, finally, I gave up and I'll wait in the hope that something will happen.

Same here, I'm using a Ugreen CM748 Bluetooth adapter and connecting the headset through the virtual link port in an RTX 2080 Super

Have you tried to update TP Link adapter drivers? Some people said that forcing the drivers update with manufacturer drivers has solved the tracking issues

So far I've: 1) Updated the mobo drivers 2) Tried multiple dongles 3) Reinstalled SteamVR and PSVR and 4) USB port extension cable.

Today when I used the longer extension cable, it seemed that the controllers very very snappy to connect, but the problem persisted.

HOWEVER, when closed PS2VR App and started only SteamVR, suddenly my pointers were there and when I got to the "pointing part" of the setup process. They were there.. only to stop to the next part as it said that the room cannot be scanned.

When controllers were around 40% or 30% power, they lost the connection and I couldn't replicate what happened. So... the problem persists and apparently there are more problems around the corner with the room scan thingy.

*Sigh. Few more days and if no solution come up, I'll just return the adapter. Luckily Steam refunds the games too.

EDIT: Can replicate. Can get the pointers to work if opening SteamVR first. But can't still get past the room scan. Black screen OR greyed out camera but no room's blue borders for the tracking. Says it VR headset camera cannot detect the room etc.

EDIT2: Solved it. So my process was to 1) update all drives. Motherboard, bluetooth and all.2) Reinstall SteamVR and PSVR App 3) changing the adapter (yes the adapter, not bluetooth dongle) to back of my PC and different USB port. 4) Launching SteamVR not PSVR2 App. 5) Going through the setup. That was tedious, but it now works.

I hope you guys get it working.

I'm glad you managed it, maybe there is hope one day... I tried your process and unfortunately nothing.

When I first start SteamVR, it doesn't recognize the head.

I had controller problems with my asus bt500 until I got a 10 foot usb extender and put it a lot closer to me and facing at me like it was the old psvr camera and now it works flawlessly maybe this info can help someone out

did you get a fix? my bro cant get past the "press R2" to continue because he has no pointer, and his hand appears behind the "next" prompt. mine works fine and we have basically the same PC build (new). this is day 3 of trying a billion different things with literally nothing working. is it just a bug?
