version 1.3.4 with NEW easy uncensor workaround!

LAST UPDATE: I put the beta version now in the live branch, so you don't need anymore to select beta, the workaround will work in the base/live version!
HOW TO UNCENSOR: make sure the game is not running, browse the game installation directory, find a "game" subdirectory in which you'll find a file called censored.txt. Delete it and start the game: now you can choose "Suggestive Contents" in the options screen to enable it.

UPDATE: 23.08.2015 I just uploaded version 1.3.4 which uses a newer version of Ren'Py, with new features:
- scaled fonts: now when playing in fullscreen at higher resolution the fonts won't be blurred anymore but scaled up to match the resolution, very clear to read :)
- fixed Toobar bug: in chapter 2 you must first visit Grimoire to recruit Apolimesho before triggering the dark elves scene, if you took Dora's path in chapter 1

As always let me know if you found any problem. The uncensor trick below is always valid.

I have uploaded in the beta branch the version 1.3.3 which has the following features:
- uses new Ren'Py version which might fix several issues on some systems (fullscreen problem, etc)
- enables Linux achievements!
- but most importantly allows a new way to uncensor the game on Steam ;) in just ONE easy step: make sure the game is not running, browse the game installation directory, find a "game" subdirectory in which you'll find a file called censored.txt. Delete it and start the game. Voilà!

Please note: all OSes have same folder structure. So the trick is valid on Windows/Mac/Linux.

Deleting the censorship file won't kill my ability unlock achievements, will it? Also, if I ever want the censors restored for whatever reason (namely that I think the uncensored version should be used only during the romance scenes alone - no offense), would that be possible?

Speaking of which - that leads me to another question; why isn't there just an on/off button for censors in the preferences menu? Would Steam just not allow it, or is there some sort of embargo or another that makes it prohibitive to do so?

...and by that definition, doesn't that mean, in regards to the *steam* version, that deleating the file would be more perminant for the sole fact that the steam version *doesn't* have a toggle for the suggestive filters in it's options? if there isn't any such content control for the steam version, how could i re-inable it at all?

If I'd known all this, I wouldn't have bought the game off steam - i'd have got it off the WinterWolves site directly. makes me feel like I wasted money to buy the wrong version :p

I know I probably sound like a jerk right about now, but could you please not call this a "very simple workaround" and yet have it so people have to ask in the comments how the hell to find this file?

EDIT: Nevermind, the humble bundle one does the same thing. Basically the only way for this game to work is to turn real time scanning off in McAfee. I hope this stuff is solved soon.

The problem here it's that is not MY fault, but those antiviruses. If you check this site, only 3 out of 55 antivirus flag the exe as false positive:

I would recommend to change to a more reliable antivirus instead ;)
Anyway, will try codesigning the .exe in future since I think it's the only way to avoid that for some poorly written antivirus programs.

I got the game to run. For some reason I tried the exception thing again for the exe file and it got through. I don't know what I did different, guess I was just fast enough to do it before stupid McAfee flagged it again.

Yep, it's everything!

EDIT: Actually I don't see the soundtrack available for the Humble Bundle version. The expansion is there. If the soundtrack is included, I don't see it. I think the soundtrack is there for the Steam version though?

The mac/windows/linux have all same folder structure. I will add screenshots to first post so it's even more clear!
And yes I had to do this, because before I couldn't even allow uncensored version on Steam. I think now it's better :)

Valve doesn't care if you mess with the game files. It won't affect your ability to get a refund at all. As long as it's under two weeks and two hours of gametime, the policy is No Questions Asked.

Go to your library tab in Steam.

Right-click Loren in your library and select "properties."

In the properties window, select the Betas tab.

select the beta option in the drop-down box and close the properties window.
