Yup, technically only Origin have cloud support for this game but even then they don't update (understandably) the machine-specific header of the save files, so users would find their saves undetected on other systems until they manually update the files according to the instructions on PCGW[pcgamingwiki.com].
There's really no reason to use this kind of a machine-specific header so... it's just... weird...
I didn't know that EGS had disabled Cloud Saving -- in fact, when I saw that it released for free on EGS, I didn't attempt anything myself, but I did immediately Google whether or not it supported it since I knew it didn't here.
Didn't realize Origin sells this as well. I like platform-based achievements, so I wish the Steam version had cloud saves, but that'll probably never happen.
The Nintendo Switch version has some extra content-- does the Epic version have that content as well or is that specific to Nintendo platforms?
Don't quote me on it but my guess is it's the same as Steam. The extra content in the Switch version was done by a third party and I believe the point was exclusivity. It wouldn't make much sense if they invested to bring that stuff to Epic and left the larger player base on Steam behind.
Fair enough, that makes sense... thanks for the insight
