[Spoiler] Can't get "Split Personality" achievement!?

I played through the game without guessing what the "Split Personality" achievement was for. It requires using a paint bucket but I used every paint bucket at every opportunity in my first playthrough. It looks like you only get one paint bucket per map and that paint buckets don't respawn when you play through again. I think I may have used up all of the paint buckets in the game. If that is the case, then am I forever blocked from getting that achievement? Can I never reset my QR messages in order to get this!? :(

Isn't there some way to reset your messages?

(later edit) Apparently, you cannot exhaust your buckets and can eventually get this.

Uh? Every time I made a new game (with Eternal Life ending) paint buckets respawn. This also is a good argument for showing everyone's QR codes.

OK, well, I haven't seen any paint buckets yet, and I've reached the Land of Faith (C) but I have seen my own messages around.

On what basis do the paint bckets spawn anyway?

I don't know if they will spawn on the map every playthrough 100% of the time, but they spawn in random locations - random enough, at least. I am sure that you have not exhausted your entire paint-bucket collection, but I have double-paint-bucket locations. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough for them.

The paint buckets are small, but have sparkles by them. There was one right near one of the portals for puzzles that had something else you need to achieve that ie, your split personality. You can take paint buckets through the purple shields that stop you from taking other objects through.

But I achieved everthing on my first playthough. Every sigil, every star. There are easter eggs and I gotta get the last few story related achievements so I'm playing through a second time, but still, here aren't any puzzles I haen't solved at least once at this point.

I just found the paint bucket I used in Area 01 in my first playthrough in the exact same spot. I now know the paint buckets are non-exhaustive.

You're right! I got it! I just had to keep on going. I found a paint bucket in C4 and got the achievement using the recorder in "Oubilette"

Oddly enough, not all the achievements are showing up for me. I still need o get "Deal with the Serpent" but t doesn't show on the achievmenets list anymore. (I got "Press the Serpent" first time through, of course. lol)

Paint buckets only spawn if you have enough QR code message available to use. So starting a new game you won't have them until a certain point in the game.

If anyone else has this problem you could try playing Sigils of Elohim and unlocking up to 3 more QR Code messages, and that might allow some more paint to spawn in Talos for you.

Some achievements are story related, I guess you could say... and those are "Hidden" on Steam until you unlock them. A lot of games do this.
