Elevator Floor Code
Hi, just wondering whether anyone knows the floor 3, 4, 5 codes that can be put into the computer terminal on floor 1 of the tower? I know it's cheating but I'm curious about what's up the tower.

No. The codes are reported to be randomly created, when they are viewed the first time.

Up the tower there is, on each level, a red lock, a puzzle, and a computer for unlocking the next level.

Note that once you have the code for some level, you could, in theory, take that code to the 1st level terminal and use it -- but that would be silly, as there would be a terminal right there where you could enter the code. :)

Yes they can. I unlocked floor 5 before unlocking floors 2, 3 or 4. Codes for floors 4 and 5 at least can be obtained before coming to the tower under certain conditions, no cheating required. But floor 5 probably still requires you to have all puzzle pieces to get through (I didn't check), and the conditions required to obtain the codes "early" come very late in the game anyway, so at best you could probably only skip a few tower puzzles.

I'm curious about your "certain conditions" for skipping so many floors... since I currently believe that is not possible.

You just need friends in the right places. :)

-Talk to MLA whenever possible.
-Act selfish and athiestic. Tell him what he wants to hear.
-Eventually, near the end of the game he'll ask to come with you. Tell him you're unsatisfied with his offer.
-Ask for full access to the Archives. He'll put all missing entries in your Journal (Tab key to access) as if you had read them, and including the entries with the Tower elevator codes.

That's definitely interesting, thanks.

Yeah, I wonder if it also adds the A04 Floppy images?

(Oh, and funny extra: in my second playthrough my Fl.6 code was 684. I came up with false conclusions in my new game (I used Eternal Life to see if anything AT ALL changed) and the numbers I got were 686... but I unlocked B, then A star room, so I thought the code didn't change)
Hey. I did it - the specific flag is, when Milton confronts you about this:
There you are, you kept me waiting. Now, about that arrangement of ours. When we first met I was certain you were just like all the others. All you had were these baseless claims and stale ideas, reeled off someone else's song sheet. Sound accurate?
or
There you are. You kept me waiting. I finally put my finger on what was bothering me. It's as if the answers you're providing aren't your ideas at all. As if they're latent, prescribed, pre-scripted, and you're just going through the motions. Does that strike a chord at all?

In this conversation, agree with him. This will trigger the flag, and later on you'll want to negotiate ("What if I don't like the terms?").

This choice, for some reason, won't give you any of the "images" (including the A04 Floppy) but it will everything else, as well as the audio logs.

This means an Any% run is feasible because you can save doing THIRTY red sigils (you spend 19 to unlock fl.1 plus fl.5) - before I was under the assumption that because one star was restricted upon all floors in the tower, that the messenger ending would then be the slowest. Now with this, this confirms my intuition that it's the fastest ending - of course this is all irrelevant if you are to skip the stars via Sigils of Elohim.

Sorry if I'm being dense here, but are you guys saying the codes for floors 3, 4 and 5 are in the pieces of onfo gleaned from the terminals throughout the game? I have visited all the terminals, including the messenger islands and the hidden 08 locations. Don't recall reading anything about floor codes though...

Because...well, I've visited your profile and you don't have the achievement for all terminals. There are terminals inside the Tower as well. I can't tell how much progress you've made in any path in Milton's dialogue tree, so for all I know you could have completely skipped that part of the story.

S'okay,, I just started playing the tower and I've done floors 1 - 3 and I'm on 4 now. I saw this thread while idly browsing and thought, "Uh oh, was I supposed to have found some codes?" One thing I do seem to have completely missed though is the serpent endings. Dang!

But in order to be able to speak with Milton and advance in the dialogue tree... Aren't you supposed to solve the puzzles first ? Like : You enter B5, clear B5 and then only you can speak with Milton and advance... so like windblade said, to get these codes "early" you would have to go near the end of the game by solving the puzzles to get all the codes, which absolutely nullifies the interest of going for the messenger ending in a speedrun.

I agree and concede. I don't think it's viable anymore if you're going for non-Sigils of Elohim run. Even having stars and not using them is kinda cheaty because you'll get Milton's messages faster.

Here's my Any% with Messenger ending (+3 stars)

Any video ? :D
Also do you cheese the puzzles or do you solve them the legit way ? Just being curious as i am working on an Any% route myself.
I didn't do major cheeses like your A01, but I did do some cheeses (Blowback, C01 star, Impossible Ascension, Labyrinth, Four Chambers of Flying, etc

I have a video but it's really laggy, I could edit it and show you though)
