Empty QR codes--no text?
I've come across a couple QR codes where when I mouse over them they highlight, but no text pops up. (E.g., Area A-2 by the extra computer and at the very start of Area A-3.)

Is this normal, or am I experiencing a bug of some sort? All the other ones I've come across have displayed notes from prior robots/versions.

If it is a bug, is there a way for me to get around the bug and see what the text is supposed to be?

It's intentional...
Spoiler: It's intended to give you a HINT that something is amiss.
Next level spoiler: The QR codes are still valid...
I don't see how the next level spoiler helps... am I supposed to use a QR reading app on my phone or something and read it from the screen? lol...
Yes, or take a screenshot and find a reader online
I tried that and the scanner couldn't pick it up, even got a nice cropped shot of it and still nothing.
You can use a QR-Code to read it. This way i was able to read them.
Blahord: I'm not sure what you mean by that. Do you mean a QR-Scanning app? Read my prior replies--I tried that, and it wasn't able to detect it.
I think a great way to show it's intentional would be, if when you hovered over it, instead of showing nothing it'd 'glitch' the QR code.
morikal: It worked for me. Sometime you have to look at it the right way
Strange, my qr codes screenshots cannot be recognized online (and i don't have modern smartphone) =(
I am intentionally necroing this thread so complain about the fact that you have to use a mobile app to read the codes. Firstly, it seriously breaks immersion. Secondly, the player android can read the other QR messages, so it makes no in-game sense. Thirdly, the way it is implemented made me think it was a bug in the game, and since it has gone through so much development, I got the impression that this "bug" was even overlooked as not important enough to fix. Then I find out that critical clues are given in those missing QR codes.

Another, related, matter concerns the hex text. I did not even know that was a thing in real life. I thought all those texts was broken due to corrupted data, and thus unreadable. I don't think I am alone in this either...

The game clearly could have made a better job of hinting at these two things, and, preferrably, have provided an in-game solution for them. Having to take screen shots and alternating via an internet browser and the game is... suboptimal.

@ towerwizard: anyone who is a big enough PC enthusiast, or a programmer or hacker or anywhere near those areas of experience would know about the hexadecimal data. I recognized it as potential data left in another form, but I didn't bother translating it to binary and to ASCII to read it, yet, but I always knew something was there worth reading sometime. As for the QR codes, I always had curiosity about scanning them with my phone but never did it yet, however, that doesn't make either case a problem. It's not a game breraking situation to not get those bits of information, but it's more of a bonus in my opinion. If you have an issue playing a game that involves that sort of stuff in a game that involves being an android inside an artificial world inside a supercomputer storing both an experimental AI and an archive of the entirety of human history... Obviously the game focuses on "information" left by programmers and hackers , so whining about it won't likely yield any benefit. I'm not attacking you, but You should note that there are many games that have used similar methods to hold "extra" information you'd have to do external research to get...
