[spoilers] Is this how you're supposed to solve the "deception" puzzle?

Opened rooms as far as the one which had the blue light source and then I doubled back with the blue light, putting the first red connector higher so the beams wouldn't cross. Not sure if this is how you're supposed to do it but hey, it worked!

Yes. The title presumably refers to the fact that the seemingly-easier path through the last gate is a red herring.

I was almost sure it would be necessary to climb in to where the sigil is from outside the test area in Deception. I was trying to climb every available surface around where the star is with the two cubes. Didn't manage to break the game tho. That Bot really tested this game well! :O

Thanks for explaining it. ^_^

Actually, it was our dear betatesters (real humans! :)) who tested against exploits like that. The bot is mainly for testing that the game is passable (i.e. that there are no impossible puzzles).

But how do you know the beta testers are real humans, and not just sufficiently-complex bots?

I can't know. I'm just continuously applying a very complex Turing test on them and they seem to be passing it all the time. That's enough, as far as I'm concerned, to consider them worthy of the title "human". Our autotest bot is (unfortunately) not that advanced yet. ;)

Here's the real plot twist: the beta testers ARE human... it's you who are a robot, created by them. Your purpose is to THINK you're human. Looks like they did a fine job

Oh god, don't get me started about deception, deception is the perfect name for it.

Or maybe you're secretly a gorilla inside a human suit

Actually, it would be better to assume that we testers are persons. To say we are human is a little too closed minded of a statement. :P

I couldn't figure it out, so I beamed a blue laser in from the puzzle across the courtyard at which point it was dead easy, I also assumed that was the intended solution and "deception" referred to basically the whole puzzle.
