Yes, stars get consumed if you complete the puzzle at the gate in World A or anywhere else where stars puzzles are encountered.
Yes, there is an obvious way to crack them open, but it's revealed later on World C
You won't be able to go past the wooden barrier until you reach World C. Once you reach that hub, it should be pretty obvious how to break down the barrier.
You don't need the extra stars from the Sigils of Elohim game to complete the game.
There are, to my knowledge, three stars that are not listed in the level panels.
I am confused now. So are there 30 stars in A, B and C?
You actually can go back. You can't go back if you go past floor 5. You'll kind of know the point of no return when you see it.
One is in the tower somewhere before you climb the staircase on the 5th floor.
One is in one of the "floating island" areas.
One is in the main hub area on floor 0.
It's in the messenger level of World C. It'll become pretty obvious when you see it.
