Somehow, your "clue" led me to easily complete it, as I was stumped before. It WAS clever, as I didn't know that was possible, as it was never exploited in the original game. Thanks!

You're addressing an entirely-different puzzle in World 1, not 'Through A Window'.
'Window' is solvable with three - the creators are just messing with your assumptions based upon your previous experience. It just means doing something with the items you have that I don't think ever came up in the main game.
