Switching to 2d Mode
I played the demo for this game a long while back, and finally grabbed it on the sale this Christmas not knowing it had/not wanting 3d. It starts up in 3d and I see no options for changing that in the graphics options. Anyone able to help me figure this out 'cause I haven't found anything on it and it's driving me nuts not being able to play!! Thanks

How are you going to solve some of the more challenging puzzles oh lord xD

I'm actually the one that bought it for her. I played the demo and it was in 2d, is 3d necessary now? Might have to ask for a refund.. :(

All I know is there have been mentions of 2d available, but I couldn't find a way to change it.

I shouldn't be saying 2d. 2d isn't what I'm looking for/meaning. What I mean to say is it's starting up with red/green crossed images as in requiring 3d glasses. At least that's what it seems like. She doesn't have that equipment and the demo I played a long time ago was not set up that way. Still it sounds like I'm just going to need to get a refund. Sorry for not being clear.

this game doesn't need 3D glasses... you just startup and play it on any normal monitor. i dont understand what you mean to be honest

Hmm.. if that's the case then it sounds like it's her computer doing something funky on start up.. I saw so many people talking about nvidia 3d vision and I saw under the graphic options direct3d instead of direct x and figured there was some change along the way.

I still don't understand what's 'causing 3 different images and multiple colors if it's not some 3d vision thing.. IDK, thanks for the replies. I'll have to take another look and see if changing some running properties will fix it.

I have never heard of a game that requires 3D glasses to play lol... And graphical settings should be the same as the demo that she played.. If the demo works fine the full game should work the same way. One thing she can do is uninstalling and reinstAlling the game that should help

CS:GO is implemented for 3d as well as many others I'm sure and they require some sort of eye ware to filter out the different images. Anyways, that was more of a "what it looked like" thing anyways because of the multiple multi-colored images.. Also I didn't know you couldn't refund a gift.. that's.. disappointing, but I guess it might prove difficult. I'll just have to figure out what's 'causing her screen to flip out then.

For the record, I just found my solution to her problem.. Her 3D settings on her graphics card were turned on by default and I guess Talos is the first game she's played that had it available. So it was 3D vision that was 'causing her problem, but I had to turn it off from the card settings itself. Thanks again for trying to help Misa, 'cause I don't think I would have found the answer without your feed back.

No need for a refund now :)

I think there are also settings in the game as well, in the options. But if not there (it's pretty easy to get lost), there's always the console, that you summon with F1. There, writing something and pressing TAB to autocomplete, you can turn on and off settings as you will.
