Sound is disabled [XAudio2 Error]
When I start the game, the screen blanks after the 32/64bit decision, then I get following error message: "You do not have an up to date version of the XAudio2 libraries, which are a part of DirectX. Press OK to update, or Cancel to continue. If you continue without updating, the game will have no sound, or may have problems with stability, performance or sound quality."
Pressing OK does - nothing. No update, no game. Pressing Cancel lets me play the game without sound.
I already tried to install DirectX9 additionally to the already installed DirectX11, but that only led to an error.
The game looks good, but without sound it is kind of boring.

It updates only DX9 files and should install without error. I just tried running dxsetup.exe from The Talos Principle\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010 folder and it finished successfully on Win10 x64.

The installation from that path finished successfully, too. But I still get that errormessage and I don't have any sound. :steamsad:

You can try downloading and installing OpenAL. You can then select OpenAL in the sound options.
Alternatively, you can try checking the output format of your default audio device and see if it's set to 44100 or 48000 Hz.

Thanks for the links, but there are no solutions offered. I just can add this: I also use a USB headset, which leaves me without sound in another game as well: "Antichamber". I tried to play that without the headset, and the sound was played over my internal speakers.
