The game will start, but there are graphical issues, because the Intel Mac OpenGL driver is not good enough. The Iris Graphics works better on Linux and Windows.

The game is such a masterpiece that it is is hard to do justice to it in a few sentences. If you like movies like I Robot and The Matrix, you will like this game and it is just as good. So, looking at the game, I consider it must buy. Absolutely unique experience in your life.

Looking at your situation though, people report that the game is well playable, but especially world B suffers badly from graphical glitches (there are 3 worlds, A, B and C) . You have to weight the advantages against the disadvantages.

Nevertheless, the game is such good, that even if you need to e.g. install Linux on your Mac to finish the game, this might be time well spent.

People report that setting the GPU performance setting to "Lowest" makes it "tolerable" on Intel on Mac. But it's a matter of taste.
