World C-Star: What's the hidden area behind Nexus for?

So I recently finished the game with the final (for me) Messenger ending. But I don't get what the gated area in the Nexus puzzle (in the Star Door area in World C) is for.

It's the area with a fan that blows you like 4 stories high for a great view, but as far as I can tell you can't bring a box to it to raise items, or really do anything else "useful". In a regular world I'd expect it to be part of a star-puzzle, but obviously that can't be the case here. (can it?)

if you solve the puzzle in correct way and get to that fan and look down then you see that lazers spelled NEXUS below you

I missed it too - google helped to clear confusion

I think the issue lies in that ugly tree that blocks "N" letter. if not for that tree - it will be easier to notice and read the word. or developers could add a QR-code nearby fan with cryptic text like, "today I learned that getting high above and looking down at your accomplishments may lead to new discoveries" - they could have made it easier to notice, but whatever =)
