Question about counsel

So far i love this game. Spoilers ahead, i'll black everything out.

So i reached the point that you first receive the ability to seek counsel, before i unlocked the messengers. Not knowing what it is, i clicked on it and it told me that i don't have messengers unlocked. I don't want to get any help (i might replay it just to get the achievement) so i am assuming i will get the achievement of not getting any help in the end. However does me clicking on that thing count against that achievement ?

I have not unlocked the achievement of being helped either (since i haven't been helped - i clicked on that thing before i had any messengers).

NOW i have unlocked the world of messengers or whatever it's called. This means that now i have that ability. Does that work for that time (a long ago) that i clicked on that thing (which would then mean i will not get the achievement of never being helped)?

Also, i have an icon of a bubble with a question mark now, which also has the number (1) underneath it. What is that?

Question marks are number of times you can get help.
Unlocking some other world has nothing to do with it.
You can get ask for help, get achievement and then load previous save from before that to finally get another achievement.

If you seek counsel but do not receive it, it has no effect on achievements.

The question mark icon indicates that you can get one hint.

Perfect. Since i've now freed two messengers and now the question mark has the number 2 underneath it [/spoilers] this means i haven't used them so i can still get the no help achievement.
