If you are in a hub area and need a key... the best advice (without giving away the answer) is to think outside the box.
"Thinking outside the box" was a subtle hint at how to approach Talos Principle as a whole. As a good example, try this. In the 4th hub in World A, a solution to one of the puzzles can also be used in several of the other puzzles. Or to spoil it, there is a pillar with a beam link on top of it. This can be used in several of the puzzles, not just the singular one it is found in. Give it a try and see for yourself.
Apply that sort of "out of the box" thinking to many of the puzzles in this game and it's DLC and you may find the game far more enjoyable and less frustrating. Just don't let your experience be defined by assumptions.
Usually either careful combing kd the area or creative ways to get around puzzle boundaries are needed to get them. I can think of one specific instance right now - for that one, the keys ARE hidden elsewhere in the hub area, but because it's so big and intricate, you really need to scour carefully or you'll miss them.
