Short Demo

I just noticed the Short Demo in the queue; when did we get that? It's a cool little puzzle - easy to veterans of the game, but I can see it a bit challenging to new players. I only found 2 stars and I'm thinking there're more of them plus a secret level. Anybody progress further than I did? If anyone wants help on the star up on the ledge, I have a video on my profile.

It must have been from a recent update; mine is on the PLAY menu under the Public Demo.

I've had the game for several years now; I think the Demo was always under the Play menu for me. Never found enough stars to see what that was all about, or else it wasn't memorable enough so that I forgot. Don't remember which.

I remember playing demo before game was released. So it's not something new.

You can install it with steam://install/330710

There are a lot more stars than two, and there is indeed a secret level. Plus a second archive recording (like the white spinning telescope you probably found already). Keep exploring, looking and thinking.

Short demo only has two stars and no secret level. Regular demo has 6 stars and does have a secret level.

The short demo is actually a demo level we created for Talos VR, back when it was showcased on various shows. Obviously, it works in flat space as well, so we thought - why not have it here.

It's super simple, tho'. A good way to show off some of the mechanics to someone who's not big on puzzle games.

I'm curious about the short demo. The demo I seem to have run seems to be another demo, also known as 'public test'. It's the one with more than two stars. Can I download/run the short one somehow ?

Simple or not, it was great to play a new puzzle.

I was able to bring the first cube into the puzzle area and can platform to some of the lower towers, but haven't found any secrets as of yet. Are there any hidden surprises in the Short Demo other than the 2 stars and time capsules?

If you're running talos on one of the 4xxxxx versions (e.g. current patch) short demo is an option just like the main campaign or gehenna.

Its in 326589 (previousversion) to. (unless its another demo)
