Can't get star in World C, recording stops when I leave Time Flies
To get a star in World C 5, I need to keep the connector airborne in Time Flies. I've seen a walkthrough video showing that after leaving Time Flies, the connector stays airborne. However, for me, the second I leave Time Flies, the recording stops and the fan stops running. I can hear the box drop right away.

I've recorded for 2m 45s, so I it isn't that the recording playback has completed. I see no way to get the last star for this section. Any ideas?

Can you be more specific? What star you want to get? I don't remember all the stars and usually there are multiple stars in a level

It's in World C, Section 5. As per the walkthrough video, you get a red connector airborne in the Time Flies area. Then you go into Up Close and Jammed and use a connector there to connect to the airborne connector in Time Flies and a receiver in the Dumbwaiter area. I didn't watch past what happens then, because I want to be surprised, but I assume that something opens in Dumbwaiter, probably a gate, and that it is in Dumbwaiter that the star exists.

If it helps, this video at this point shows the connector going airborne with the use of a recording in Time Flies: https://youtu.be/Nsj-VSbJzMU?t=738. That is what I can't get working. In the video, when he exits Time Flies, the connector stays airborne. When I exit Time Flies, the recording stops immediately and therefore, the fan stops, and the connector drops to the ground again.

Edit: Hmmm, the video playback doesn't seem to honor the timestamp. It is at 12:18.

You need to have a real connector in the air. Recording is to get fan working.

Yes, I have a real connector in the air, but it won't be in the air unless the fan is working. The fan stops working when the recording stops, which it does as soon as I leave the area.

Connect it to the source. When connector flies up it can actually reach source

Yes, that did the trick! Can't believe I kept missing that on this particular one, since that came up on a couple of other puzzles (that the source would be reached once airborne), and I figured it out just fine with the others. (I should have watched the video closer, I guess, though I try to use them as little as possible.)

Thanks!
