Aperture Science Easter Egg

In the world B2, if you point the red laser to a connector on the Moon, the Moon will rotate to show the Aperture Science logo. There is a strange device on the wall of one of the puzzles, facing the Moon. I'll try to figure out what's its purpose.

There's also portal turret somewhere, probably in DLC.

The "strange" device are actually binoculars pointing at the Moon. The require a "key" to be activated.

lol there are 2 portal easter eggs one in talos original(b2) and another one is in DLC road to ghenna world b first puzzle

not sure. I couldnt find it when i played the "beta" (which is basically this version now), where i had no issues playing the game years ago. (Moon did its rotate thing, but "Wheatley" was nowhere to be seen.)
I also had a *very* hard time connecting to the connector on the moon. Almost impossible to find it in 4K. (this was also a smaller issue in some other far away points in the game)

Same problem here with The Xbox One version. Did everything, rotated the moon and look through binoculars. Wheatley was nowhere to be seen. Guess it's been removed...

I don't know what version xbox is on but it was fixed in a later patch. The connector and wheatley both exist up there, they just started getting distance culled after the engine update.

I assume the windows store version is more tightly related to xbox than steam, and while it does have a higher version number it has some other tell tale bugs from older versions that are patched now, which would seem to suggest it's built on a old branch where that wasn't fixed
