I like achievements. It's a personal goal to aim for as well as the enjoyment of the game. I can't understand why people expect the achievements to still be enabled though when mods or cheats are enabled.

Serious Sam, the game that when Doom was almost a decade old, felt like a refreshing throwback to run and gun FPSes of yore, is now itself two decades old? God I feel old. Awesome update, though. Happy birthday Sam.

Guys, please let me get this straight. The game is really fun to play, the shooting mechanics is truly satisfying and all, despite the goofy characters that make the player cringe once in a while. But the performance is just plain horible ever since the release. i7 8750 GTX 1070 runs Doom Eternal on Max settings in FHD, whereas your game that's got looks way, way far from that of ID's project quality-wise, is agonizingly slow, glitchy and it resembles rather a chunk of bloatware than a neat, cohesive project in terms of optimization. I'm not saying this just to complain and highlight the flaws, I just really want to see that the actual, huge performance issues are addressed and the game runs smoothly, without consuming unnecessary resources that it clearly is not able to employ adequately. I will leave the game for better times, when the issues are really addresed and the game is fixed. But so far, it's playable state is way ahead and I hope you won't abandon optimizing and fixing it for the players who appreciate your work.

Because it shouldn't really matter. If someone wants to ruin the achievements for themselves, that's only affecting them. They could also just use Steam Achievement Manager to unlock them instantly if they really wanted to for some reason.
I want to use a lot of these bug fix mods from now on, there's a lot of great QOL stuff, but if I want achievements I can't do that. It's lame.

The problem is, if your computer was fresh off a new installation of the O.S., with only the latest drivers and updates to O.S. installed, it might be an easier process to nail down why you're getting bad performance. The amount of files you have, what sort of drives, what sort of system software you're running, there's many things that could be causing the slow downs, not just optimization. I'm able to run this game without any hitches. It doesn't mean your situation isn't valid, it just means that it's hard to decipher why you are having issues when there are so many different configurations of computers out there.
