That aside, SS4 didn't feel like a low quality game to me, I can understand it's not for everyone but I personally really enjoyed it and from what I hear in the interviews and Croteam posts it certainly has some love poured into it, it's just very different like SS2 was which made that a love/hate title for many as well.
(unlike Diabotical)
The most disappointing thing is deep down there is amazing game buried under it all. Gunplay is rock solid, addition of dual wielding is great fun, damage feedback and gore both great (but blood is a downgrade), levels are big but encounters aren't that greatly designed. Visuals are the same (some levels look great, but still 2010-like great at best) while optimization is terrible, levels with vehicles are underutilized, sound mix is semi-broken, but music is amazing, and there is still ton of bugs on top. No MP, limited coop, no modding, no split screen, broken lighting (indoor areas look somehow way worse than in SS3), and overall lack of attention to details.
When it works - it's amazingly fun. But it rarely does. It feels like ton of great ideas haphazardly thrown together in order to make a product, instead of cutting the fat and polishing gameplay. It's very uneven game, feels like it was released mid-development. They surely need to overhaul it.
