Thank you Catdeville I will try your reset Vancovver idea. O the devs mispell the town I guess they are afraid of copyright law suits or w/e. Gamers like Tundra give lame excuses and try to blaim me like it is my fault the game screwed me over by putting me at point blank range with a gang and not giving me enough time to build my army up at the start of this town. I will consider this post answered already but the dev of this game should seriously think about making easy mode a lot easier and the impossible mode a lot harder for the hard core gamer freaks that complain about the game being too easy.
Worse case scenario your idea does not work and I say screw this game. Best case scenario your idea works and I beat the town. Either way life moves on and so will I. I was looking for a game when I found this one.
First off, don't scout too far because YOU WANT TO AVOID ENCOUNTERING ANY ALLIANCES/Triggering some random events with them.
Second, so if you have positive food production, give it away to other alliances for FREE. (It also helps if you have the negotiator perk with one of your survivors) If there are no farms, BUILD THEM ON TOP OF YOUR BUILDINGS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Third, TRADE WITH GUSTAV AND OTHER GANGS when you have discovered them. (Also, GIVE THEM THE CURES, DO NOT REFUSE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GO TO WAR) The idea is to gain early momentum before you have to face the big bad G. (Use the cures since they are really expensive and can basically clean out gustav and other gangs' inventories)
Finally, if you don't have an engineer survivor at a skill of at least level 1, make 1 ASAP. The idea is to make them create explosives so that you blow up any zombie mobs/massed zed screwing with you whilst you are in war with the big bad G or any alliance.
The thing is that there are not a lot of survivors, however, but try to recruit as many people as you can possibly get. (I had only 10 when I beat this campaign at the end of the day)
EDIT:
If you have to deal with the Judgement gang, you need to establish 50 respect with them as soon as possible so that their raiders would stop harassing you.
After you try resetting Vancouver, if that doesn't work, you might want to go look up the post that has the configuration codes on it, it may be that you can make the game playable for you by tweaking the config file. :) For example, one of the things that I *hate* about this type of game is having the "fog of war" and having to spend *hours* "scouting" to find out what's where, so I have my config file set up to get rid of the fog of war and to have "all scouted", so that part of play, which is annoying to me, is eliminated and I can get straight to play. So my suggestion is that if you're frustrated, do what makes you happy. ;)
From what tundra says rebuild 3 sucks when you play Vancovver. Tundra said he only had 10 survivors. LMFAO 10 people to make up a gang in the REAL world a gang with 10 deep would not be a gang for long. You can't sell drugs to people and get money from people for protection in your hood for very long in the real world if you only have 10 people in your gang. I think I will throw up the middle finger at this game and call it a day.
Since I am a happily divorced male I can say this from experience. Video games are like women -- if you find one you can't freaking stand to be around and play you just move on to the next one. That is what I am going to do, move on to the next video game and stay away from the "rebuild" games. In the real world a gang would be laughed at and taken over by other gangs if they only had 10 people in their gang.
If you don't believe that there are WAY more than 10 people in a gang, go to your local ghetto and look how many people you see sporting colors like red and blue. Tell me if you see more than 10, that is if you make it out alive.
On second thought ask your local police department how many gang bangers are in each gang because you would get shot if you roll up in the hood because you are what they call a mark. I am just trying to look out for your safety and well being ;)
Rebuild 3 is not realistic enough for me because in the real world gangs have way over 50 people in that gang which is a LOT more than the 10 you get in Vancovver in rebuild 3 lol lame.
I may come back to Rebuild 3 after I cool off. I am very pissed off that you only get 10 gang members in Vancovver that is not enough for me to start a gang war. I LOVE to kill other gangs and watch their headquarters burn to the ground. Only reason I tried to ally with this gang in Vancovver is because I only had 4 gang bangers and that rival gang was right there by me. I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees, meaning I would rather kill all other gangs than ally with them. I want my gang to be the only gang in Vancovver. EVERY town I killed all the gangs except that one town where you had to ally with the nutjob zombie loving the chosen gang to find out where their hidden lab is.
O I let the rotten live in the town before vancovver but that was just because I was in a hurry to move on to the next town to get this game finished and over with.
The town where you had to ally with the pharmacists to get the location of that lab, I just started killing them off until their leader said ok here is where our lab is let us stop fighting. I just kept killing all of them but the game would not let me kill all of them until I did the lab mission. Once I did the lab mission the game let me finish them off and I did.
See my fighting style now Tundra. I don't want to side or ally with gangs but in Vancovver it seems like the dev is making us side with gangs because we only have 10 soldiers or gang members. Besides that there was no nearby lab for me to start making the cure so that idea of yours in out the window and the game does not let me make a lab. I think how the game works is you have to discover or take over a lab before your builders can make a lab. The reason I say this is because at the start your builder is only allowed to make apartments and farms.
Even if my builders have to level up before they can make a lab, that is hard to do when you are only 10 deep and trying to fight off the zombie horde and the other gang bangers.
1. You restart the map until you get a base close to a school, like real close. The goal is to not meet any factions until you can force an alliance with them for the cure. (for resources and not an instant war)
2. Train one character up to level 10 leadership (or 9, can't remember)
3. Start expanding 1 tile at a time using that leader to recruit people at the same time.
4. Repeat step 3
Allying with factions is the easier way to go about it for sure. You can get construction (able to build other types of buildings) as an event reward if you take too long from 3 survivors that show up asking to stay the night.
You are telling me things I already know Metalsaigon. The PROBLEM is the rebuild 3 dev only gives you 10 people for your gang in Vancovver read what Tundra said above you. You can't start a gang war with 10 soldiers so the dev is making us have to join with other gangs in Vancovver.
If the rebuild 3 game dev thinks 10 soldiers is enough to start a gang war, I want to see (in real life) the rebuild 3 dev and 9 others go to L.A. California and take over all the gangs there ROFLMAO not going to happen.
The PROBLEM metalsaigon is straight from the jump meaning straight from the start 3 factions want the cure and the sell the cure option is like leadership 7 and my toon has low leadership because it is at the start of the game and the game dev lowers my previous leadership level when i start a new town.
SO it is either hand the cure to the 3 factions at the start when they ask for it for free or get jumped by their massive army when i am only 4 deep meaning i only have 4 soldiers / gang members.
I want to build up and then attack the gangs, but I cant. I have to bow down to them and give them the cure for free cause my toon is not high enough in leadership at the start. Yeah go ahead and say build up the leadership level. How the ♥♥♥♥ am i going to do that when they ask for it from the start genius metalsaigon.
I swear to God only smart people from now on leave me messages on this post that understand what I am trying to do. I am TRYING to build up and overtake, but I can't because the game dev only gives us TEN people to take on the whole town. Maybe you dont get that metalsaigon so let me say it a few more times. TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN people, dont add up all the tens and think we get 60 because we only get TEN
On second thought, I don't even need advice on this town anymore because you only get TEN people and that is never going to be enough to start a gang war. If the ♥♥♥♥♥ ass dev of this game ever gives us more people then yeah i can do my thing, but the rebuild 3 dev never will. Guess the rebuild 3 dev loves throwing salt in my game, but its all good.
If you have to, pick the previous city to start over and play nice to Gustav to get the special stock unlocked and equip miniguns (or swords if you don't want to scavenge for ammo) to your 4 traveling surviours.
Snoqualmie,Wenatchee,Moses Lake,Spokane,Trail,Nelson,Castlegar,Penticton,Kelowna,Hope,Chilliwack, and Abbotsford are all the towns I went through using the same tactics I used in Vancovver but for some reason I am getting my ass handed to me in Vancovver
