but personally i'd love an OPTION to actually temporarily play as one of the survivors or control a team clearing an area, like xcom style, if not single player style similar to say fallout 4 or even state of decay 2, not super hardcore fighting waves of zombies, but clearing a few while maybe also picking up a bit of loot and claiming the block.
playing a scavenger could be done with the same first person perspective, but you play more stealthy, looting and only fighting if you really need to.
defense could (again, optionally) be played out as a tower defense situation.
if you choose not to "zoom in to action" the game could play as we have now, with just more of pretty much everything, more 'jobs', more buildings, more upgrades to buildings, new items, more to research.
Who's parts do we need to service to get a sequel to such a classic game?
