Lava Mode: How much time do i have?

Considering the lava probably has a somewhat steady "climbing speed", how long do I have in lava mode, until it reaches the heaven gates?

if you ever get a response PLEASE TELL ME, I just tried lava mode, and my guess is you have anywhere from like 1h to 2 hours BUT THE DIFFERENCE REALLY MATTERS, ill keep trying obviously but just let me know :Edit-Spelling

if you do something like 1h30 you'll be fine for sure (maybe more idk i did it with 1h19mn)

I beat the game in 58 minutes and had plenty of time left over so my guess is also like 1h 30m-1h 45m

I'd assume you'd have as much time as the achievement for 1hr 50mins.

it depends on how fast you go, I'd assume it goes very fast if you're way ahead of it and starts going at a normal pace if it's close to you

I finished in 48mins and the lava was right below me because it was catching up to me very fast but I fell right next to it

I've been trying to solve the problem mathematically and i can tell that it does not move steady. At 100m the lava travels at 0,0411min/m, which would total exactly 2,5h of time.
I've redone the calcs at 500 however, and there the lava is climbing at a speed of 0,024min/m. That would total 1,46h of climbing time. This doesn't really solve the "issue", but at least it sheds light on the question of whether it travels steadily.

I'll have to add that I used wings and skipped decent parts of the first 500m, so if it travels in relation to your advancement, maybe I've screwed it myself. Hope this helps, or is intriguing or whatever, I probably won't continue testing on further heights and climbing speeds for now as I want to grind the achievement first.

did it in 1hr 40 and Probably only had 5~ minutes left before lava reached the top.

It seems to take more than 2 hours at 144Fps.

I'm all but certain it climbs faster the further away you are. It's very noticeable if you take a few shortcuts with the angel wings and trampolines, and look down at it rising. Once it's very close to you, it slows to a crawl to give you a last chance.

Going through the additional comments i can confirm that it rises in relation to your own speed.
I climbed up with wings and shortcuts and waited for the lava to reach me and it was 54, almost 55 minutes, so way lower than some other players describe.

Lava slows down depending on FPS.
