If I've finished the original
and put quite a bit of hours into it (125+ hrs or so)
is remastered worth it? or is this more for new players to the franchise?

If you like this game and want to play it again, yes, same feeling with West's beauty.

Bit of both I'd say. This is definitely the version to buy if you don't own the original version, however, it is still great game to own as it is a very well made remaster, with much better visuals which are similar to Horizon: Forbidden West.

I had the original on 100% with 180 hours clocked, I replayed the remastered to 100% as well with another 92 hours clocked here. Enjoyed every minute.
And getting the achievos again is kind of satisfying to be honest ^^

There are some small improvements, but in many ways, the remaster is worse. Way too many characters now move their mouths weirdly (because a 3rd party studio was asked to record facial motion capture, but the original 'actors' were not involved, so it's not an ideal match), and there are some other screw ups as well - for instance, in Frozen Wilds, there were moments in the original where snowing would be deliberately stopped so that you could get a good view of the land. Unfortunately, in the Remaster, this has somehow been removed, so when you get to the end of a particularly important quest and _should_ get a nice view of the world, you may instead end up in a blizzard with 0 visibility.

I have 400 hours in HZD, 900 in HFW, and now 150 hours in the Remaster, playing both New Game and New Game + to 100% on Ultra Hard. I think 10€ (or $) are a great deal. Overall, the remaster is better, imho. Because the facial animation and the NPC models in the dialog scenes is way better. It may be not perfect, but it is a huge improvement to the original. Also, some nice QoL features like auto pickup or no-animation-pickup.

In the original many NPCs looked like rubber dolls to me, or at least "strange" in other ways (greetings to the uncanny valley). This is not the case in the remaster.

So, if you enjoyed the original, and want to replay it - buy the remaster. It's worth it, imho.
