0.4.17 - New DX12 Build

May 5

Todays update brings new Unity 6.1 tech to the game. I have officially enabled DirectX 12 support, with fallback to DirectX 11. There should be a pretty decent graphics performance gain across the board as the new DX12 culling and optimization changes are pretty significant.

Here's an example of some of the expected performance gains as detailed by Unity:

0.4.14 - More performance optimizations

Always optimizing! Todays update is more optimization across the board. I re-enabled the Ability and Item buttons on the main menu so you can see what abilities and items are available. Also fixed some logic on the main menu for opening and closing some windows that would sometimes overlap or remain up. I also added two legendary easter egg items for some fellow indie developers out there. Hillfort Games with his game Long Gone, and Madchirpy with his game Shroud of Gloom. Check 'em out on Twitch and here on Steam, make sure to wish list 'em as well!

0.4.13 - New Unity build and IL2CPP Optimization

This is another optimization build. Latest x.41f build from Unity 6, with IL2CPP code generation on. Should see a decent performance boost across the board. If you see anything weird let me know.

First impressions and suggestions

What I like: The gameplay is fluid with no slowdown. I like the graphical style and the weapons. And the playable characters are different from one another. Not simply a different skin. Suggestions: Manual aim with the right analog stick would be great. Though I must admit, that's simply a personal preference of mine. A better indication of when you get hit would be great. A rumble feature, or the screen flashes red. Something along those lines would be a big help. Aside from that, I dig it. It's ...

Note to dev on IMO major graphics/ memory bug in 2nd level

There's a bug in the 2nd level (Obsidian something) which results in a movement jitter/ frame skip. At least for me this resulted in extreme motion sickness and nausea till I was forced to quit after 1-2 waves (and I'm a guy who's always playing other survivor-likes, and I have no problem reading or working on my laptop on moving vehicles). I have run just about every other game in the genre on my rig without any CPU/ GPU issues, also my system didn't really heat up, and the issue persisted in spite of ch...
