HELP - My entire city is screaming low land value
When I open my city (roughly 52k), all is well (minus the abandoned industrial that im working on), everyone is happy but within 2 minutes on max speed the ENTIRE city is screaming low land value!?!?! It makes no sense. The first time this happened I had just removed some offices to try get my industrial working again but I opened the save again and did NOTHING and it still happens. I have no idea what is going on or what my citizens are complaining about. I had land value in parts over $50psm with enough parks, and various services for land value to not be a problem. What is going on??? Please help im about to give up on my city :/

i just throw 3 or 4 parks down, depending on the size of your city and all those "low land value" goes away, but also make sure your industrial is no where near your residence

you could also cut taxes.

I tried both cutting taxes to almost nothing and throwing dozens of parks down in a single district. Nothing. Keep in mind this is not isolated it is my ENTIRE city - everything simultaneously, and I did nothing notable to cause it. I was just redigning a new district off on the side and BAM everyones pissed off.

Could it be that some parks you placed have been removed by the game? Are there any open lots where there once was a park and now it is just empty? Or maybe some other kind of mod that alters the game mechanics might be not working properly?

I did have a similar problem on a small scale due to losing the zen garden park from my game. Not sure what happened to it but since I no longer have it as an option to build all the instances of it that I had built were deleted and land value droped in those areas.

Also check pollution/crime/services coverage. As well as transit coverage. Those affect land value as well.

Update: Still have no idea what caused it - have tried everything suggested to no avail. Instead I left my city to crumble and after hitting 5k pop (from over 50k) it started to rebuild itself? Dunno but it took like 20 game years and now it seems fine again.. Didnt do anything over that time it just freaked out for whatever reason. Thanks for the help though, hopefully it doesnt happen again.

i disabled the hightech housing policy then that happened so maybe you did that?

Nope, I only had it in a few districts anyway - so it couldnt be the cause of a whole city freaking out.

Are you using any mods? I know the mod that changes how buildings level up might cause this.
firesofhades1 Apr 6, 2015 @ 5:24pm
you don't get complains about low land-value because people just want it higher. you get it because land value was higher in the past but dropped. the building complains because it's about to de-level because of that. did you remove a harbour or station or something like that?

land value can also decrease because of noise, pollution and abbandonment.

still, an entire city...

maybe you re-enabled chirper?

Parks.
Lower taxes.
Most importantly, lots of roads with tree decorations!

I had the same, likewise. Out of nothing my entire city became spread with people leaving due to to low land value. Everything had parks, decorated roads, services, low taxes for months then from one day to another my population dropped from 50k to 25k and still leaving. Everywhere including industry complains about to low land value.

You might as well have just started a new thread. Also provide further details as you've not really given us anything to go on.

I would suggest providing a savegame as it's the easiest way to get answers and avoid a game of twenty questions. Also list any DLC and mods used in the city.

This happens to me when I play on the hard mode and forget to turn it off when I load a save of a city that isn't on the hard mode.
