You need visable line of sight to connect harbour to the trade route (red line needs to be green nothing blocking it)

How do i make this route?

When you goto place the harbour there will be an additional line heading out to sea, make sure its green.

The route will form automatically IF there isn't anything blocking it. The best places to put harbors are along the coast to the sea, unless the map in question has either no outside connections for ships or there are routes for ships going through a canal-like passageway (But these are placed on the map at its creation, not by the player during an active session of normal game).

First, the map has to have a sea route on it. (The 'Two Rivers' map does not.)

Then, when you expand your city, you have to buy a map tile that has a sea route on it.

Then, stick your harbour on the coast.

Is there a way to add a shippingroute to the map (`Tow Rivers`) after you started playing on the map?

I made a canal through a part of my land so that an island could connect to a harbor, I made this canal perfect, I even tried making all the roads accross the canal bridges. I've tried everything I think. But every time I try to connect it, the line won't turn green. It says the only problem is that it doesn't connect to route. And also, I have made sure that nothing is touching that line.
Here it is....

In case anyone was still looking into this like i was.
Make sure there is enough width for the boat and then some.
In the screenshot above, it looks like he has a chokepoint near the middle that needs to be widened before a boat can traverse

because those old threads have relevant discussion on the topic already, are already search engine indexed and are subscribed to by people that care about that specific issue.
while you can argue between prevention of either old or duplicate threads for more general conversations, in this case resurrecting it is simply the indisputably better option

Ship Path Anarchy won’t work without this mod, all it does is tells the game to ignore the water depth requirements. I don’t know why BloodyPenguin didn’t list More Network Stuff as a required mod for it.
