Hold right-click and move left/right.

doesn't work with me. Is it only in editor-mode?

Doesn't work for me either. Holding the right mouse button. Moving left or right. Does nothing. Cannot figure out how to rotate buildings for the life of me.

I guess I figured it out: Most buildings simply cannot be rotated :-) Everything that needs to be placed on a road will automatically be placed, that the entrance looks towards the road (hope those are the right words, sorry, no native-english-speaker).

So, the only things that can be rotated manually seem to be the roundabouts. Maybe the trees, too, but those I haven't tried.

You can also rotate wind turbines, for all the good that'll do you. =P

@Landwalker: Sure? This was the first thing I tried, didn't work (ok, maybe I was too dumb to move the mouse to the right side). Made sense to me, would be quite strange to rotate it out of the wind direction :-)

You must use the MoveIt! mode to be able to move/rotate any building, including vanilla ones.

I'd like to thank you, too... It pisses me off that I have to go to a forum to find out how to do stuff that I could have otherwise learned with a friggin'-fraggin' tutorial!! (I also looked in the manual, and saw no mention of how to rotate buildings.

This method is for props. Buildings cannot "rotate". They have a "Front Yard" which must always face the road.

The only exceptions are a few assets that technically are buildings but have something called "Circular" placement attribute. Those can be rotated for aesthetics and are typically not bound to roads, like the wind turbine or water towers, etc.

As an alternative, you can plop your building and use move it afterwards to reposition it. However you run the risk of disconnecting it from the road if too extreme.

I am trying to place monorail stations and the right click button kind of rotates them but not in a useful or satisfactory way.

For the monorail station with road, hold right click and drag the mouse left or right. If you just right-click it will rotate 45 degrees from what angle it is. You cannot place it on existing road and you basically have to delete all roads near to where you want it or you won't be able to get it down in the right spot (it's dumb, I know).

All the other stations must be placed against a road and will automatically rotate when in a valid position.
