Any Map Recommendation For Building A Dam With Huge Power Output?
Hello guys,
I want to know any map recommendation with some rivers with strong stream, so I could build a dam (hydro power plant) with power output about 120-200 MW.

There's a decent one for one of the scenarios. It needs a lot of landscaping to work. I think it was a Natural Disasters DLC map scenario.

A lot of people make a tall mountain lake with a dam. Usually a poo dam.

You mean this sort of thing.

I now realise I would have got even more power if I'd cleared out more of the land at the foot of the dam. :)

Personally, I don't use them as poo dams. I prefer to put my poo in a lake as it keeps it contained.

This map looks very good. Nice work.

My only minor nitpick would be the requirement of Mass Transit DLC. This will prevent some users being able to play the map. Not a big issue. It's just you can get more people to play your map if you have no DLC requirements.

Another minor nitpick is the starting tile has a lot of water. I like preserving water areas to keep them looking more natural and preserve rivers as much as possible. Just my opinion and ignore it.

Over all it is a very nice looking map with lots of nice scenery.

Honestly, HOW is a DLC requirement of a nearly 10 year old game STILL a 'nitpick???'

'One can literally get ANY original DLC (and most CCP) for roughly 25-35% of Steam prices in about EVERY reliable Steam key (re)seller about now. And that's been so for YEARS! Hence the FULL game (so all official DLC) is available for about € 100-120 by now, maybe 150 including latest CCP's.

And please don't come with, yes but RAM requirements (which is about 20-24 GB with ALL DLC, most CCP, roughly 30 mods and some (about 500) assets activated)...
FFS it's 2024, minimum RAM SHOULD be 32GB.

For the record; I grew up having to replace PC's every 2-3 years (because architecture changed so rapidly) which was a costly hobby.

For that reason, I went to consoles. Still like and use those but roughly 10 years ago I went back to PC too. I'm still playing on that 2014/15 build rig... Yes, by now heavily optimized, upgraded and overclocked (incl. the DDR3 (!) RAM): It STILL suits any PC game I like to play, 2023/24 releases included, at 1080P at 60-120 FPS and with good temps. E.g. that applies Cyberpunk too, just 1 setting below Ultra with roughly 60 FPS (which is more than fine for a single players FPS!)

All to say; it DOESN'T need to cost a lot to get this game in FULL nowadays and it doesn't required a state of the art PC to do so... Actually mine could be considered a potato by now ;)

Sweet, so you're now going to buy Mass Transit DLC for everyone? LOL

Nice, I will be waiting for you to send me all the DLC too! You are so generous!

Oh wow. Free RAM too!

In my history of PC's, I have never NEEDED to upgrade a computer in less than 5-6 years at tops. I'm 61 so do the math how long I've been doing PCs (Hint before PCs existed)

For that reason, I went to consoles.(the only console I had was for my visiting nephew)

I'm still playing on that 2014/15 build rig

I thought you only played on 2-3 yo PCs?

Myself, I'm lucky though, I get to upgrade my PCs 2 or 3 times a year from my having to maintain my friends and families computers, plus their friends and families computers.

Smartphones have slowed me down a lot, but I still build a few towers a years.

But my first computer was a Timex Sinclair 1000 4KB computer with a 300 baud modem. Talk about high speed! I could even read the text as it scrolled across the screen on my BBS. LOL

Having a map surrounded by water could be advantages for endgame.
I recently played on Two River Map and I can't build a cargo harbour for f reason.

I use 16 GB RAM and the game still plays smoothly on my computer.:steamhappy:

Yes, an island could be helpful for shipping as it is omitted on a lot of maps.

If you're playing smoothly on 16GB then you aren't using it effectively. LOL

I use 32GB of RAM and on some cities it lags badly

16 GB will be 100% fine with no modded assets and few DLCs.

And even with assets+DLCs, there is page filing, so it can take a while before out of memory errors start appearing. I can play on a 16 GB RAM rig with 4k+ assets and all expansion DLCs just fine.

Not as ideal as having everything loading in RAM, but the game will run fine, barring slower loading screens, nonetheless. RAM has little effect in regular game/simulation performance, otherwise.
