Can't Get Skyscrapers. PLEASE HELP

My buildings only go up to about 4-8 stories tall, then they don't go any higher. All my people are extremely happy and they have tonnes of hospitals and stuff like that. Suggestions?

Are you playing on a European map? No skyscrapers in European maps.

^^ Lets say it so I guess form the developers pov probably not. BUT there are mods already out that let you unlock these things even on european maps as far as I understand (best take a look in the workshop there)

Sorry but it has been told to you it is the map theme... AKA european map theme does not allow skyscrapers... we give you links to mods to even enable those skyscrapers in a european map theme... skyscrapers will naturally grow only on boreal / temperate / tropical themes...

I simply do not get what you did not understand from all of the above answers...

IF then you are indeed playing on one of the 3 themes that allow skyscrapers, and you still don't have any... you need to be a bit more specific... provide pics, telling us if you are playing vanillia or modded, etc...

I'm not using the Europe one though. I'm on one of the themes where there should be skyscrapers and their aren't, despite me making all my people really happy and giving them everything they need, how long does it usually take to get skyscrapers?

Did you already reached the high density residential zoning by unlocking it (related to population number in your steps to unlock things (sorry I just miss the correct word this morning lol)) ?
You will have skyscrapers only once you can zone high denstity residentials, commercials and offices...

Then you ofc still need to lvl up the buildings... the highest lvl up is 5, but you should already have some higher residentials at lvl up 4.

Offices and commercials lvl up only up to 3...

So make sure you give enough services (parks, public transports, police, etc...) to allow them to lvl up

I started with everything unlcoked, is the levelling up the little bars when you click on a building? Whenever they go up the building just stays the same.

I have more than enough services, I'm on unlimited money so I went crazy with all of that

yes it's the little rectangles on top of info window when you click on the building.

So now we know where you are having issues, maybe some pics would help...

But if I could give you an advice, your first few maps, you should take it slowly and play the *normal* way with the need to unlock things and earn your money... that will allow you to learn where / when you need to place what... and that should also prevent you from growing too fast and then face the death wave... learning what road to use, where, to prevent huge traffic jams, etc...

learning the ropes by unlocking is a good learning tool... Going too fast on this game will usually only lead to many frustration late game

Okay, I played normally for abouit 2 hours but the same problem occured, just really ugly 4-8 story buildings. I tried mods and only enabled the buildiings I wanted, but they still stayed the same :(

I might just stop playing. This game is turning to Village Skylines
