To each his own I guess, seeing as the Devs thought it was pretty. Same with that blaring "yellowish" saturation.
Because it's somewhat realistic? Because it adds to the visuals? Because it works well with the other additions of nighttime lighting?
Well, it's indeed a matter of tastes, but when I drive around the industrial area of my city I don't actually see such a thick fog. I've seen something like that in some Beijing videos, maybe it's common over very large cities, at certain weather conditions... but in game, when you have a dozen structures in the middle of nowhere, that are under a thick grey fog that you have difficulties to tell the details, I found it annoying..
