The game keeps loading forever.
Recently, I decided to play city skylines and the game decided to not load. (By this I mean at a certain point of loading the game, the loading meter would stop around the middle of the metre and the game would load forever.) ive unsubscribed from all mods i had installed, reinstalled the game but nothing seems to really help. All the game does is load forever and play music.

What are the computer specs? Have you tried uninstalling the game? Anything heavy running in the background? Defrag lately? Just a few questions to get you going in the right direction.

I have tried uninstalling the game and reinstalled it once. nothing changed. (A quick note I was able to play the game until the game stopped working 2 days ago)
Nothing too heavy was running in the background. All that was running was steam and bing with 2 tabs on.
I have recently dropped my laptop.

My laptop specs are
Device name LAPTOP-H4N7JJAM
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1035G1 CPU @ 1.00GHz 1.19 GHz
Installed RAM 20.0 GB (19.8 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Any recent updates (Windows) or some type of system change? Any other recent performance issues? Slow loading of other programs, slow unloading of programs, etc? When was the last time you defrag your HD? BTW, your specs looks great. What graphic card you utilizing?

Forever? How long is forever? 5-minutes? lol I know 5-minutes can seem like an eternity, but I've had to wait over 30-minutes in some cases.

It is usually caused by running out of memory.

You won't do yourself any favors removing mods. A lot of mods need to be subscribed if used in your city, or the game won't load.

Try unsubbing assets only next time. They just vanish when you load the city, which can be a PITA to fix, but it should load.

You can try subscribe all workshop again, from content manager, savegames, find your city, click "subscribe all" button to0 get everything back in your city. when finished installing all workshop again, then click the "enable all" button. It may seem locked up during subscribe all and enable all, but wait it out. If it crashes to desktop, restart the game and do it again.

After a successful "enable all", then go to assets and disable all. and see if city loads.

If it fails, likely a mode issue, or maybe still out of memory.

My computer has not had any updates recently. The other programs on my laptop have not bein having performance issues. i have not defraged my hd since i got the laptop.

The computers graphics card is a Intel(R) UHD Graphics

you have a tablet powered CPU which is only 15-watts of power. It' likely overloaded you system.

Also intel intgrated graphics aren't well supported.

I highly recommend starting a new city and unsubscribe all workshop. They are add-ons to the game and use up more resources and are likely your only major issue.

Ive attempted to make a new city with all mods unsubscribed but the game gave me the same old loading screen. The game just wont load. ive left my computer on for 2 hours and nothing happened. I have bein able to play the game a while ago( like a week ago) so im unsure if something did something to the game.

Try to temporarily launch the game with the -noWorkshop -disableMods flags and start a new game again.

Loading Screen mod will give you line by line load info and RAM availability to let you know what is taking so long. I use this any time I add any asset to the game, then disable when I get a clean load. Not to mention, it dumps you out a very nice html with offending assets/mods with links right to them to fix it or unsub

I already have loading screen mod - but I do not have any reports. So I can remove these offending dead assets.
BucketBrain Mar 12, 2021 @ 6:52am
you have to enable the reports - in game content manager - loading screen mod options
