screenshot folder location can't be found
so, i've checked my setting on steam, tried looking for them on "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<username>\" (the 760 & remote folder do not exist for some reason). Also tried adding a folder location where the screenshots are saved but nothing is loading on steams end. anybody have an idea on how i can fix this?

You might have to do some digging for it. For example this is my pathway: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\1604991431\760\remote\255710\screenshots

For me I got to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\

Then I did not have the same number folder as Priest, and I also store this on my C:\ not D:\ but I'm sure you know where yours is pointed.

So I found: 1604991431

Within this folder I had the same 760\remote\ as Priest.

However, for me, my screenshots were in 255710

So just kind of keep searching for it starting from the beginning userdata folder.

Steam Screenshots (F12) should always be in AppData:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Screenshots

Or just plain:

C:\Users\Mark\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Screenshots

You must change "Mark" to your steam username.

And both methods be copied into File Explorer.

So here's where mine are:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\~~SteamUserID~~\760\remote\255710\screenshots

Ah, I see. It seems it makes two folders. One for the game (cities skylines) and another folder for Steam.

So appdata is for user (F12), and the other for steam.

I think appdata may be for pictures you save? Steam may keep a history in userdata?

My appdata has only have 1 picture that I just saved, my userdata has a dozen that I didn't save. I rarely save them. But if I take an unsaved screenshot it stays in my Steam Library "Activity" Page, along with friends activity and screenshots. So steam keeps a temporary history it seems in userdata. It makes sense, so we can get quick recovery of screenshots, and Steam can auto share screenshots of friends too. Kind of a newsfeed for the game.

There also seems to be another folder for screenshots, as my profile for this game has a history of hundreds of screenshot also. I don't know where that folder is located. but those pictures are on the workshop.

Why do you not simply click on the "Show on disk" in the steam screenshot manager

Steam F12 screenshots are in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Screenshots folder. The Cities: Skylines built in camera button puts them in the C:\Users\YourNameHere\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Screenshots folder and are labeled Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2, Screenshot 3, etc. These are supposed to be high resolution screens.

This is where my F12 screenshots go. I though hi-res pics went in a special folder. But screenshot 1, through screenshot 10 go here. It also has my saved game files as well. The screenshot are back from 2015. One is from 2021.

I always buy a new computer several times a year it seems. So my system is always a clean slate. But I notice there are multiple copies on game data all throughout the file system, It is like they keep changing it, then they have multiple locations for the same files. It reminds me of all of the address books that windows had had over the years, last time I counted there were like 6 different ones and they have never been merged.

What other games do you play through Steam and use the Steam interface with? All the other games I play are in the noted Steam screenshots folder as well.

My most notorious game is Snow-Runner. I am always bumping the F12 key, as I need to use the backspace key a lot when winching or towing vehicles. I should have over a 1,000 screenshots (none saved or uploaded), well maybe a few. But I can take about 100 screenshots a session on some days. LOL

But I go through a lot of computers, I have maintained my family's and friend's computers since the 80's, and now I also maintain their family's and their friend's computers as well. LOL Since iPhone's came out mid 2000's, I have a lot fewer than I used to. It is easier to reset a phone than a PC.

But I have no:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Screenshots

I checked all three laptops and 3 towers. There are other screenshot folders.

I went in and looked "Show in Disk:, and it just takes me to userdata:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\Steam usernameID\760\remote\255710\screenshots

FYI, please mark out username and even userid. Other users may be able to use this info to highjack your account or worse.

That long number is your steam code for your username.

Also, 255710 is steam code for City Skylines 1

That is really weird that some have that folder and others do not.
