i would like an easyer way to make a new clean install of city skyline
i tryed to make a new clean install of city skylines. first obstuction.: removing mods and assets, was a pain to do. i gave up halfway with the assets.

i used the clean install. started the game. added the important mods, like traffic manager, moveit and network 2 extension. and some others. they should all be compertible with the game right now. i also use the startup mod, where i can see what mods and assets are loading. and still i get a lot of missing or falt mods and assets. . started with making suck water from river and cloac outlet to river, and connected a water line between. all ok. until i tryed to make a water line from the first water line, them it gives This space already occupied warning. there is nothing there. . but if i make the same water line, from the terain into the water line, no message. ???

so i am looking for the easiest day to make the totaly new and clean install. without having to manualy remove assets and mods.

You might try setting up a couple of essential mod and asset collections, you can the click subscribe to all to reinstall.

finding the mods is not any problem. the problem is the pain , to remove all assets ( to many ) and mods ( not so many). so i can make a whole new install.

Setup a Steam Collection of all assets and mods you use. Once created, the collection will have a "Subscribe to all" and "Unsubacribe to all" buttons. Just hit those for easy removal/addition of every item in said collection.

The wast majority of assets are just fine and never need to be updated, so it's highly unlikely your problems are related to assets. It'a almost always mods that act up, because they change how the game behaves and so need updated when the code they affect has changed.

Missing assets shown when you load your game (when using the Loading Screen Mod) isn't actually something you need to worry about. Most of those (if not all) are just props or trees that were used to decorate buildings. If you want them, the Loading Screen Mod makes a handy list with links, but the buildings work perfectly fine without. And sometimes it's actually a good idea to not get props or trees to save memory.

The only ones you really need to deal with are assets listed as Broken by the Loading Screen Mod. Again you can use the report the mod generates to figure out what's wrong. To find it, go to Options, find the Loading Screen Mod on the left, then enable the report and copy or change the path where it saves the report. In most cases broken assets are missing a network or mod, that you need to subscribe to and enable. In a few rare cases, the asset is just broken and should be unsubscribed.

And then on to mods. To help figure out which mods cause trouble, we have a nice list made by the commuity of known broken and incompatible mods. It's a great tool to avoid any known troublemakers and I really recommend saving the link somewhere, so you can easily check mods you consider subscribing to or go through your already subscribed mods.

Lastly always make sure to UNSUBSCRIBE mods and not just disable them. And always restart the game between loading a city, as that's the only way to make sure all mods are running like they should.

thanks for the help. i followed bucket brains advise. also i uninstalled the game, and deleted the files under user . i just downloaded the game from new. and i hope it is clean, with no mods. . i will start the game now, and install newest trafic manager, and network extension2, and moveit. and the one where i can change the time of day. , and find it. that will be enough for now. i hope it works now. deleted all save games. going almost vanilla. lol

Uninstalling the game doesn't actually remove any mods or assets. You will need to unsubscribe from everything through Steam to get rid of them. You can do that by going to the workshop page, then under your name on the right go to "My subscriptions" and then click the button to unsubscribe all.

avanya, i know. i just wantet to install everything from new, and clean all adons and mods. seems to work. i only forgot to enable every mod, before i unsubskribed them all in one time. . and lol. when i unsubskribed al in one time, it said wait. and i waited many hours. at last i closed down steam, and restarted. everything was gone. ( exeprt the 3 mods i did not subcribe )
