Object Reference Not Set to an Instance of an Object (System.NullReferenceException)

Now I am getting this message when I play saved games. When I had this issue previously it was something to do with Prop Anarchy. I have unsubscribed from this, but didn't work this time around. Anyone else got any ideas what to do?

Hmm, but the error message is likely to refer to a problem somewhere, so hiding it doesn't really solve it...

One solution with previous patch updates have been to load a game in safe mode, using the Loading Screen Mod, (settings inside the tool management), which - at least for me - removed the object reference error - and I could then continue my game after resetting to normal mode...

@mateusz.kunda That's only the unifiedUI log output. If possible, provide your output_log found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data and if possible install NullReferenceCatcher https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2952968348 run the game once again and provide NRClogs.txt found at %LOCALAPPDATA%\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\Mods\NullReferenceCatcher\Logs (You can paste these filepaths into your file explorer address bar to easily find the .txt files.

@Bengt74 Regardless of the abandoned Extended Mod Reporting's suppress feature. It is not a clever way to keep running the game as you could end up corrupting the entire savegame. It is not recommended you save while suppressing any errors. Once again, make sure to post your logs so we can figure out a solution.

@mateuz.kunda The main culprit of this issue is likely to be Theme Mixer 2, which has been abandoned and uses an outdated harmony dependency.

To resolve this issue, I recommend that you unsubscribe from Theme Mixer 2 found here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1899640536 and try launching the game again. You may also want to consider looking for a similar mod that is more up-to-date and has better support. @mateuz.kunda The NRC mod is currently a medium level tool to use as you need to navigate to the logs folder to access NRClogs.txt file (NullReferenceCatcher) . However, I understand that this can be cumbersome and time-consuming, which is why I am currently working on developing a button to easily access the logs file. Once this button is implemented, using the NRC mod will become much more user-friendly and accessible for everyone.

Unfortunately removing the Theme Mixer 2 hasn't changed anything - still I unpause the game and get the 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object [System.NullReferenceException]

It is possible that the savegame has been corrupted due to this error. Delete your output_log file and rerun the game, resend it and I'll get back to you. Make sure you unsubscribed the mod not just disable it as it still intercepts game's files.
